MADNESS (Thriller/Horror) Feature

Described by many as a combination of The Sixth Sense, Seven and Saw, Madness tells the story of a child psychologist whose wife is kidnapped by a demented former patient then forced to commit gruesome acts in order to “buy her back” one body part at a time.

THE PITCH

Michael Norman, a happily married man in his early thirties, works as a therapist at a children’s mental hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. One day in the midst of his normal, small-town life, his wife goes missing--never comes home from work.

Michael searches frantically but can’t find her...and just as he’s decided to go to the police, he receives a call, an anonymous call from a man who says he has her and that she’s safe. But, she won’t stay safe unless Michael does exactly as he’s instructed.

This man knows Michael, he's someone from his past, and he has one vengeful goal in mind--to drive him insane, drive him to Madness. His plan--force Michael to kill people, random people, and dismember them in order to buy back his wife one body part at a time.

And, if Michael doesn’t obey, it's his wife that goes under the knife.

THE DIRECTOR

Jake Kennedy's latest short, We All Fall Down, screened at over two dozen film festivals internationally, garnered close to a dozen festival awards and received rave reviews everywhere it was seen.

Kennedy is currently repped by the Paradigm Agency.

THE PRODUCERS

John F. Beach and David Haynes collaborated previously on the shorts Bob 3:13 and Bear Essentials both of which earned top honors at the Dallas Video Association's 24-Hour Video race and the EDOC 7-Day video race respectively.

Haynes, who also penned the screenplay for Madness, was recently recognized as a finalist in the Final Draft Big Break Script Competition for his Thriller, The Bad Things People Do. His self-produced, short films, A Nice Day, The Hitman and Agave all screened at various festivals and received an assortment of awards.

Natives of Louisiana and Texas, Beach and Haynes plan to take Madness back to Shreveport, Louisiana for production in order to take advantage of that state's tax incentives.
